Walter Dawydiak President

Walter Dawydiak is the founder and president of Cars Dawydiak, Inc., a San Francisco automotive business he established in 1982. Over more than four decades, he has built his career around specialty and collector automobiles, with experience spanning sales, restoration, collision repair, service, and vehicle storage.

Dawydiak began his automotive career working from a rented taxi stall and gradually expanded the business as its clientele and capabilities grew. Today, Cars Dawydiak works with vintage and exotic automobiles, including Porsche, Ferrari, Jaguar, Bentley, Maserati, Lamborghini, Range Rover, and other marques. The company has placed particular emphasis on manufacturer-certified repair standards, skilled craftsmanship, and ongoing technician education.

That commitment to specialized automotive work has also shaped Dawydiak’s approach to developing employees. Throughout his career, he has emphasized hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities for skilled tradespeople to build expertise. He believes that maintaining high standards in automotive service and restoration requires investing in both experienced technicians and the next generation entering the field.

Dawydiak is currently overseeing the redevelopment of a roughly 60,000-square-foot San Francisco property that formerly housed the Cars Dawydiak showroom. The new facility will bring showroom, service, and collector-car storage capabilities together while introducing private car-vault spaces designed for owners who lack room to keep larger collections at their San Francisco residences. Dawydiak’s new venture will provide much more than simply storage. Cars Dawydiak can coordinate maintenance, repairs, transportation, and other aspects of managing a collection. The project reflects Dawydiak’s broader interest in how the collector-car business is evolving and how specialized automotive companies can better serve enthusiasts throughout the ownership experience.

Outside of work, Walter Dawydiak enjoys cycling, running, and other outdoor activities and has long supported charitable and community organizations in the Bay Area. His interest in automobiles remains closely connected to the craftsmanship, history, and people behind them.
