1989 Porsche 944 Turbo
An excellent specimen, this '89 Turbo is a very solid and original example with only 41k original miles. Finished in Linen Grey Metallic with Burgundy Leather interior, the vehicle is stock and original with the exception of the addition of Ground Control adjustable Front Upper Strut Mounts and Coil Springs (adjustable coil-overs).
The vehicle doesn't show to have seen winter weather conditions or a history of collision. All body panels still wear their OEM VIN labels, and all joints retain the factory brush marks and the gaps, jambs, body hardware and other bits are clean, straight, and free of weather related discoloration or surface corrosion. In addition to the original body panels, this lovely 951 shows to still wear all of it's original glass and the OEM windshield is free of chips, stars or sandblasting. The body and undercarriage don't exhibit any corrosion or evidence of salt exposure. The factory Linen Metallic finish has been resprayed in areas over the years and shows well overall. It's not a concours quality finish, but doesn't detract from the pedigree of the car. The nose of the car is free of road rash, sand blasting etc. and the OEM wheels are free of scuffs, scratches or sandblasting with the finish showing no signs of environmental damage or clear coat issues. Overall, the exterior and body present very well with minimal blemishes or age related issues.
The Burgundy or Weinrot leather interior is incredibly well preserved showing no sign of fading in the leather or carpet, shrinking wear or dryness in the leather, and the dash and door cards are free of cracking or warpage. All switchgear is operational, the OEM Blaupunkt stereo and equalizer are fully operational and the air conditioning blows cold. Current mileage reads 41,372 which all evidence shows to be actual.
Mechanically, the car is solid. The motor is dry and fluids look to be fairly fresh overall. Upon startup, the vehicle comes to life without drama or smoke. The engine runs and drives as it should with no oil smoke under boost. The gearbox shifts deliberately and smoothly, and the clutch engages smoothly as well with no hopping, chatter or sign of excessive wear or flywheel hot spots. ...and did I mention, the A/C still blows cold? ;-)
Looking at the undercarriage, quite a bit of factory cosmoline is still present, and the car shows no sign of inclement weather driving or exposure. Moving to the suspension, all bushings for sway bars, tie rods, toe links, control arms look to have had recent replacement, and all four corners of the car are supported by recently installed Koni adjustable shocks with the front wearing Ground Control Adjustable Coil Springs. Ride height remains factory. The result of the suspension refresh is a very crisp and sharp vehicle with none of the play or chassis vibration that most of these cars exhibit as they have aged.
Additional items included in the sale will be the original Spare, Tool Roll, Air Compressor Kit, Rear Privacy Cover, OEM Jack, Owner's Manuals, and 2 master keys with working LED torchlights. All bits are stowed in their proper locations.
The Carfax shows original ownership in Pennsylvania prior to moving west in 2015 eventually finding it's may to Northern California in the past couple of years.
All in all, this is an excellent original survivor that shows decades of meticulous care.
