1953 MG TD
Presenting a meticulously maintained late production MG TD. Mileage shows to be approximately 78k and is believed to be correct, approx 13k miles have been added by the seller since purchase in 1997. This particular example has had the same owner for the past 24 years, and has seen many upgrades to correct some of the maddening little quirks that the TD's have known to possess. The Woodland Green exterior finish is in excellent overall condition with correct texture and hue. The finish is mostly blemish free and shows well. The late production TD's had the advantage of having all of the mechanical and design updates that were phased in throughout the production run. The correct Beige leather interior has beautiful patina but shows no abnormal fading, drying or cracking. Carpet was replaced with a new OEM spec carpet set in 2005 and shows no wear or fading. The engine shows to be original to the vehicle with a Dec 1953 date stamp, with the chassis having been assembled in early 1954.
Upgrades and updates performed to this particular car are:
July, 2000- Original seatbelts replaced with 3 point belts.
June, 2001- Engine rebuild (at approx. 68,500 mi)
April, 2003- Luggage rack.
February, 2005- 5-speed conversion kit Ford Sierra type 9. New Moss Motors carpet set installed.
December, 2011- Auxilliary ground wire to tach. & speedo. Replace generator & voltage regulator. Jaeger clock movement quartz upgrade.
All in all this is an incredibly well cared for "driver's+" MG with no sign of winter weather exposure or wet weather driving. The car is very correct and corrosion free.
