1955 Porsche 356 Speedster

Chassis # 80584, Engine # 35480, Type 546/2. 1500 Normal engine w/ 912 rockers, followers and rods. Elgin cam,  Fresh '58 Super spec carbs, Koni shocks. Engine is not original to the car, but it is a 1955 1500 Normal and it is within 400 digits of the original motor. The factory White and Black color combo were switched to Black/Tan during the restoration. It has a very rare for 1955 dealer fitted fuel gauge. This is believed by the restorer to be an accident free and rust free car.
This car was discovered in 1989 in Southern California. After trailering it to the Bay Area, he parked it at his shop while his two early 911's were restored. In 1997 he began the two year restoration. All of the work was was carried out by Autosports Exclusive in San Mateo. The car was found in mostly original condition: the longitudinals, 90% of the floor pans, all exterior sheet metal, gauges, gearbox, 3 of 5 wheels are original, and the wheels measure the correct 16"x3.25". Tires are BF Goodrich bias ply. In addition, a partial tool roll, tonneau cover, side curtains, jack and jack pad are included.
